Guy Larsen is an award-winning writer and  multimedia director based in the UK. He works across film, digital, commercial, factual and podcasts.  He is a member of BAFTA Connect.

He has collaborated with global brands like Instagram, Samsung, LEGO, London Pride, Airwallex and Sony. He’s directed music videos for artists including dodie, Orla Gartland and Cavetown. His stop motion animated video for Cavetown’s ‘Green’ landed a trophy at the Berlin Music Video Awards, was screened at Encounters Film Festival, and was honoured at the Webby Awards.

He’s currently in production on an eight-part fiction podcast called ‘Up In Smoke’, starring Olivier Award nominee Mei Mac (‘My Neighbour Totoro’), actor/comedian Adam Buxton (‘Adam & Joe’, ‘Hot Fuzz’) and Allan Corduner (‘Tár’, ‘Defiance’). He has recently completed ‘Root Note’, a stop motion film starring BAFTA winner Wunmi Mosaku, with the score performed by The Chineke! Orchestra - Europe’s first majority-Black and ethnically diverse orchestra.

Guy started in digital video production, with the boom of YouTube. His unexpected viral success of a ‘poetry music video’ he made in collaboration with poet Mark Grist and the Roundhouse - won him two Lovie Awards and two Webby honours.

Aged 22 he went on to work at YouTube, filming and editing episodes for top Science & Education network Vsauce. Having felt he under-impressed at the job interview, he produced his own episode in the style of the channel titled, ‘Are Cooties Real?’. He submitted the video to YouTube with a Vimeo link, but got the job anyway. His editing work for the channel would go on to be nominated for a Streamy Award, and be viewed over a billion times. Yes, cooties are real.

In 2016 he founded Penny4, a digital-first production studio focused on video content for creators and brands online. Penny4 started with music videos, and grew to produce documentaries, branded content, global entertainment series, and ‘Tom Scott plus’, a YouTube channel with educator Tom Scott, amassing millions of views along the way and winning three Lovie Awards.

He is the Creative Director of Perspective Pictures, a social-first video agency in London, whose clients include globally recognised names like Red Bull, Google, Adobe, Microsoft and LEGO.
